15 Day Morocco Tour from Tangier Itinerary

 

 Day 1 Arrive in Tangier

Depending on your flight schedule, our driver or guide will pick you up at Tangier Airport or Port and transfer you to the hotel—free time to explore Tangier City. Stay in a riad for the night, including breakfast.

 

Day 2 Tangier to Chefchaouen

Our driver will pick you up. Our 15-day Morocco Tour departs Tangier to Chefchaouen via the Rif Mountains. We will travel through gorgeous scenery, forests, fields, and rivers to reach the picturesque city of Chefchaouen, where we will have free time to explore the blue gem. Stay in a riad for the night.

 

Day 3 Free Day in Chefchaouen

Today is your free day to explore the highlights of Chefchaouen and its surroundings. Stay the night at Chefchaouen, the blue gem.

 

Day 4 Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Meknes and Fes

After a delicious breakfast in the riad, our 15-day Morocco itinerary from Tangier departs for Volubilis, passing through Ouazzane and other Rif settlements. In Volubilis, we will explore Roman ruins and learn about Moroccan history.

 

Then we’ll drive to Meknes (the 17th-century heritage city), stop for lunch, see Medina’s medieval walls and Bab el Mansour, and enjoy a visit to Moulay Ismail Greenery. Later in the afternoon, we will go to Fez, where you will spend the night in an authentic Riad.

 

Day 5 Fes guided tour

After breakfast, you will go on a Fes-guided day tour to one of the world’s largest walled cities with a local guide. You will walk through narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, spice mounds, elaborately woven Berber rugs, and many other Moroccan art pieces.

You’ll visit mosques like the Quaraouiyine Mosque, founded in 859 by Fatima el Fihri, and the Andalusian Mosque, constructed in 860. Non-Muslims are not allowed in. Fountains including the Nejjarine fountain, Medersas (Koranic schools) founded as early as the 13th century, Batha Palace, now a museum of arts and traditions, Chouwara Tanneries, Souks including Souk Attarine, one of the liveliest in the city, Bab Boujloud with its green and blue ceramics, Mellah and the 17th-century Ibn Danan synagogue, as well as the Kings Palace. Stay the night in a Riad in Fez.

 

Day 6 Fes, Ifrane, Cedar forest, Ziz Valley and Merzouga

The sixth day of our 15-day Morocco tour takes us to the middle Atlas Mountains. Most of the day will be spent touring your way through stunning cedar forests, jagged rock faces, and Berber communities as you traverse the Atlas Mountains and descend toward Morocco’s Sahara desert. You’ll eat lunch on the way. We’ll make a stop in Midelt, which is famous for its fossils and rocks.

 Our 15-day Morocco itinerary continues on highland routes overlooking the broad, flowing Ziz valley. We will travel through the adobe-colored city of Errachidia, passing through huge Kasbahs and palm groves. We will arrive in Merzouga, a city on the borders of the Sahara desert, in the late afternoon. You will have free time in the Merzouga desert to explore the village on foot and meet the residents. ATV Quad & Buggy Adventure is another Merzouga desert adventure. Then we’ll spend the night in a hotel or riad. 

 

Day 7 Merzouga

Today, we will have a day-long Merzouga tour to visit the most interesting Merzouga Sahara desert environs. First, we’ll  visit the Nomads. Who continue to live in tents and raise camels, goats, and sheep. Then we’ll head to Mifiss’ plumb mine.On the 4WD Morocco Sahara tour, we will also visit Khamlia, a village around 5 kilometers from Merzouga. You will discover another way of life among the Gnaouas, who have preserved their unique traditions. There are many other locations, such as the panoramic vistas, the 4WD Cars Museum, and the desert oasis. Lunch will be served at a neighborhood restaurant.Afternoon Merzouga camel excursions across the Erg Chebbi Dunes to the Sahara desert camp are included. When you arrive, you can go sandboarding and watch the sunset. Spend the night glamping with Berbers in a Sahara desert camp; they’ll feed you dinner and then play drums around the campfire. Before heading to bed, enjoy gazing at the sky. Spend the night in a private desert tent. 

 Day 8 Merzouga, Rissani, Todra Gorges and Dades Valley

 You’ll get up early to catch a spectacular sunrise above Merzouga, erg, Chebbi. After breakfast and a shower in the desert camp, we will return you to Merzouga Village, either camel trekking or 4WD (as you like). Then. We will proceed to Dades Valley via Rissani, stopping in Erfoud, famous for its petrified marbles, where you will visit the marble fossil workshop.Continue to the Todra Gorges, which are perfect for exploring independently. After lunch, take a drive around Boumalne. When we arrive in Dades Valley, we check into our hotel or riad.

Day 9 Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakech

After breakfast, driving straight to Ouarzazate via Kelaat M’gouna. The path will take us along the Thousand Kasbahs Road. A wide valley dotted with a little oasis and hundreds of historic defenses will be visible.When we get to Ouarzazate, we will visit the Atlas Film Studio, one of the world’s largest film studios. Many movies and television shows, including Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven, were filmed here.The 15-day Tangier itinerary will take us to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou. Lunch should be taken at a nearby eatery. We make our way up, admiring the High Atlas Mountains from every angle. You will undoubtedly enjoy the captivating scenery as you journey through the Atlas Mountains and little Berber villages.We’ll pause at the Tizi N’Tichka pass, which rises 2260 meters above sea level. Well, arrive in  Marrakech in the late afternoon. Overnight in a riad in the Medina.

Day 10 and 11 Marrakech Guided Tour

Today, we will tour the main attractions of Marrakech with a local guide. We’ll look at sites and monuments like Jamma el-Fna Square. The guided tour of Marrakech includes stops at the Koutoubia Mosque and the souks and palaces. We will explore the gardens of Menara as well as a new portion of the city, Gueliz. Stay at a Riad in Marrakech for the night.

The next day, you are free to explore more of Marrakech on your own. You can also try traditional Moroccan cooking. This is a lovely opportunity to learn to cook and discover the secrets of some of the best Moroccan cuisine dishes in a professional and genuinely casual setting.

Day 12 Marrakech to Essaouira

Today, we will leave Marrakech for Essaouira. This intriguing village on the Atlantic coast is roughly two hours from Marrakech. The village is well-known for its beach, traditional fishing, and Thuja wood production. In one of Morocco’s most attractive Medinas, you may watch silversmiths and woodworkers at work. Visit a traditional pharmacy and a cooperative where women manually extract argan oil from argan nuts. You will have free time to see this treasure, and there are various outdoor sports you may attempt in the Essaouira Ocean: AV quads, horseback riding, camel riding, surfing, and a lot more. Stay in a riad in Essaouira’s medina for the night.

Day 13 Essaouira, Casablanca and Rabat

Today, we will go to Rabat after finishing our Moroccan coastline road excursion. Casablanca will be our first stop. We will have time to visit the Hassan II Mosque and other sites in Casablanca. Then, we’ll continue our journey to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, and see the Royal Palace and Chellah’s historic ruins, the Oudaya Kasbah, and the Hassan Tower. Stay in Rabat for the night.

Day 14 Rabat, Assilah and Tangier

On the last 15 days of the Morocco Tour from Tangier, we leave Rabat after breakfast and go north to Asilah, famed as the artists’ sanctuary. On the journey to Tangier, where we will have free time to explore this jewel, we will make numerous stops to view Hercules’ Cave and Spartel Cap, where the Atlantic joins the Mediterranean. Overnight in a hotel or riad in Tangier.

Day 15 Assilah to Tangier

We transfer you to the airport or Tangier Port, depending on your flight departure time.
