8 Days Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Itinerary  

Day 1: Marrakech airport

On the first day of “8 Days tours From Marrakech to Merzouga desert’’, arrive at Marrakech airport and transfer to your riad.

Day 2: Marrakech Sightseeing

Immediately After breakfast, we’ll start exploring Marrakech with our tour guide. We will make sure you see the most important historical and cultural sites and attractions. Such as the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, and the Bahia Palace, you will have lunch at a restaurant near the square your guide will walk you through the souks and the rest of the day will be at your leisure.

Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – ouarzazate – Dades Valley.

After having breakfast in the riad/hotel start your “8 Days tours From Marrakech to Merzouga desert’’. We will drive off for the Dades Gorges. Then crossing Tizi-n-Tishka in the High Atlas Mountains we will stop to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou where many international films have been shouted. Including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Alexander.
After having some rest for lunch, we’ll start enjoying the beautiful natural landscapes and historical monuments of Taourirt Kasbah in Ourzazate and the Valley of the Roses where the Festival of Roses annually takes place at the beginning of June. We’ll also pass through the Berber villages of El Kelaa des M’Gouna and Boumalene du Dades where we will spend the night.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi:

As soon as you take your breakfast we will leave Boumalene du Dades to the Sahara desert of Merzouga, a hidden Berber village in the south of Morocco. (Merzouga village: Basic accommodation very small village in the middle of the desert. You can meet local people and experience the real life of rural Morocco).
Passing by the dramatic and impressive Dades Valley and Toudgha Gorges, and Tinejdad. Then continuing off our way through Erfoud and Rissani. Then we’ll have a short picnic on the way before getting to our destination. We then continue towards the desert dunes of Merzouga for an amazing Camel trekking to the top of the sand dunes. We will be guided by our Camelman in a Camel caravan to enjoy the charm of Touareg traveling way. Once we take the sunset photos, we will camel trek back to our luxury desert camp for an evening drums party with the team and play and dance in the middle of sand dunes. Overnight inside the Camp tents.

Day 5: Merzouga desert excursion around the sand dunes:

After breakfast, we will take the way around the dunes via the oasis of Merzouga. In the nomadic depository, Khamlia village (Blacks’ village) you’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan. You will experience their music and lifestyle. We’ll leave for Rissani, once called Sijilmassa.
It was an important commercial post where the salt caravans met, coming from Timbuktu in Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables, and clothes. You will also notice some features of the Berber lifestyle where a lot of hooked and veiled men come for shopping or sell their local products. After a Berber pizza in Rissani, we will back to your accommodation and free afternoon to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel to see the sunset. Dinner and night in the hotel.

Day 6: Merzouga – Draa valley – Ouarzazate.

Before sunrise, you will get up to climb the sand dunes for enjoying the magic golden rays of the sunrise view and taking fantastic pictures. We will then turn back to the hotel for a shower and breakfast before we set off on our journey of Marrakech Desert Tours, to Ouarzazate. Crossing through Alnif, Tazzarine, Nkob, and the Draa Valley. We will spend the night in a guest house in Ouarzazate

Day 7: Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountain – Marrakech

Immediately After breakfast, we will be driving to Marrakech, enjoying ourselves on the way. The spectacular and impressive High Atlas mountains and we will then drop you off at your riad.

Day 8: Transfer to the airport

Depending on your Marrakech flight time, our driver will transfer you to the Airport and our “8 Days tours From Marrakech to Merzouga desert’’ will be finished.
